The Idea Foundry is Columbus, Ohio’s premiere makerspace, learning center, and creative place. They needed a brand and website redesign that could grow with their brand as their space expanded and audience widened

A mark was created to represent the three pillars of the brand: Empowerment, Community and Innovation, while abstractly creating “I” and “F”. These pillars are represented as the building blocks of the brand mark, creating a strong foundation and bold presence.

The new mark is made with simple, geometric shapes, able to easily be reinterpreted and recreated by the creative makers who work in the space.

APPRECIATING THEIR ROOTS

 

As The Idea Foundry expanded their space to include offices and co-working, it was important to make sure their current audience didn’t feel isolated by the change. With this in mind, the supporting brand language is flexible. It can be represented as clean and controlled to market co-working or more experimental and gritty for the workshop members.

WEBSITE RE-DESIGN

The new website had a few goals: create an online experience using the new brand, tout membership options, and create a solution for scheduling events.
